Inspire a Better Future with Asia Leadership Conference 2017

High school, college, and university students who are passionate about making a positive difference in the world can look forward to the Asia Leadership Conference (ALC) 2017 which will be held on June 10, 2017 from 8am to 5pm at Sunway University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Organized by the Center for Asia Leadership (CAL), the ALC 2017 aims to inspire young leaders aged between 15 and 22 years old to acquire essential leadership skills and knowledge to help them navigate a path to success in the fast-changing and increasingly globalized world.

The Conference is part of the Asia Leadership Trek (ALT) 2017, a one-month study and service program that enables 15 scholars from prestigious Ivy League schools from the United States including Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Graduate School of Education, MIT Sloan of Management, Northwestern, and the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy to visit various cities in Asia to develop a greater understanding of the region.

Themed “Vision and Value Creation: Charting the Path to Tomorrow’s Asia,” the ALC offers an ideal avenue for participants to garner crucial capabilities to face complex challenges of the 21st century as well as fresh perspectives from the scholars on maximizing their talents to embrace change to seize opportunities in the ever-evolving world.

Besides gaining vital skills and insights, the ALC 2017 provides participants with a golden opportunity to network with the Ivy League scholars and learn more about their educational experiences at world-renowned universities.

At the Conference, participants are able to discover effective ways to play to their strengths to succeed through workshops, professional development and career mentoring sessions, TED-style talks, and panel discussions facilitated by the visiting scholars.

Through the activities, participants are expected to:

• Immerse in stimulating discussions with the Ivy League scholars;
• Practice tools for public speaking, conflict resolution, negotiation, or consensus building;
• Engage in interactive learning experience that promotes problem solving and design thinking; and
• Gain exposure to stories, mindsets, and lessons on personal leadership.
