Andi Sparringa
Andi Sparringa is a diplomat working at the office of the Foreign Minister of Indonesia, H.E. Retno Marsudi. He is responsible for preparing speeches and talking points, as well as media relations. He was also previously a staff to the Vice Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dino Patti Djalal.
He was posted at the Embassy of Indonesia for Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union where he served as the Embassy’s spokesperson for sustainable palm oil. His areas of expertise were economic affairs: trade and investment relations, circular economy, financial cooperation, and sustainable palm oil.
Andi graduated from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (concentrated on international negotiations, international politics, conflict resolution, and international marketing) and cross-registered at the Harvard Kennedy School. He also attended Georgetown University for the Presidential Speech Writing Program.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia awarded him as the ASEAN – Indonesia Youth Ambassador. He was also a national representative for various international exchange programs such as the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) in the United States and the Ship for South East Asian Youth Exchange Program (SSEAYP).
Passionate about public relations, marketing, and tourism, Andi was the chairman of the Jogjakarta Province Tourism Ambassadors where his main responsibilities were to raise cultural/tourism awareness programs, initiate socio-cultural activities, and implemented disaster relief efforts, especially during the 2006 Jogjakarta earthquake.
