Description

The Asia Leadership Trek (ALT) is a program run by the Center for Asia Leadership Initiatives (CALI), established in 2014 in Boston, Massachusetts. CALI addresses pressing political, economic, educational, and societal issues through engagement with government and business leaders, educational figures, entrepreneurs, and students throughout Asia. It also seeks to contribute to different communities in Asia through public service in the form of leadership conferences that incorporate mentorship, workshops, and panel discussions, all based on the latest research and ideas taught at Harvard and other universities represented on the Treks. Ultimately, the ALT program embodies the belief that the exchange of people and knowledge is the key to progress. While sharing insights that they have gleaned at some of the world’s finest educational establishments, the Trekkers in turn tap into the immense pool of energy and ideas available in Asia. Today, the ALT is proud to have sent 420 scholars, representing 83 nationalities, to 83 cities in 32 countries, engaging over 700 organizations and conducting 91 conferences.
