Discover Skills Required of 21st Century Leaders

by Ida Fazila

The Asia Leadership Conference 2017 (ALC 2017) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is fast approaching, and we’ve got good news for student leaders up north in Penang, Malaysia.

A half–day forum will be held at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang, Malaysia on January 11, 2017, in conjunction with the ALC 2017. Organized by the Asia Leadership Trek and Sunway Education Group, the forum is overseen by the Center for Asia Leadership and the Asia Leadership Institute, and supported by the Jeffrey Cheah Foundation. Scholars from the Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Northwestern, and the Tufts Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy will be making a pit stop at the forum as part of their journey across Asia.

Targeting high school, college, and university student leaders aged between 15 and 22 years old, the forum offers participants with an avenue to broaden their horizons and network with the visiting scholars as they learn to become Asia’s change makers in today’s ever-evolving and interconnected world. It is an opportunity for the participants to gain fresh insights and a global perspective on leadership as well as current trends that shape the world.

The Penang forum aims to inspire participants to explore their future on a whole new level as they discover innovative tools that promote problem solving and design thinking. They can look forward to an interactive learning experience that will equip them with skills in public speaking, conflict resolution, negotiation, or consensus-building. These skills are essential for the next generation of future leaders if they wish to excel and set themselves apart in today’s competitive and globalized world.

Join us and be empowered as you learn critical skills required to tackle the great challenges of the 21st century!
